Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Panipuri Radar doesn't have accounts and doesn't ask for your email or phone number. This page explains the small amount of data the site does handle.
What's public when you add a spot
When you add a spot or rate one, the following is saved to our database (Google Firebase Firestore) and shown publicly to everyone who uses the map:
- The spot's name, map location, and price per plate (if you give one)
- Your taste and hygiene ratings, your note, and your 👍/👎 votes and reports
- The name you type in "Your name", if you choose to enter one. Leave it blank to stay anonymous.
Please don't put personal information (yours or anyone else's) in spot names or notes.
Your location
If you allow it, your browser shares your current location so the map can centre on nearby spots. This happens only on your device. We don't send your location to our database or store it anywhere. The only location we save is the pin you place yourself when adding a spot.
What stays in your browser
We use your browser's local storage to remember your PuriPoints and rank, which spots you've already voted on or reported (so you can't vote twice), and a cached copy of the spot list so the map loads faster. This data never leaves your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Advertising and cookies
Some pages on this site show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase stores the public spot data described above.
- OpenStreetMap provides the map tiles, which your browser loads directly from their servers.
- Google Fonts provides the site's font.
- Google AdSense serves ads, as described above.
Each of these services may receive your IP address and browser details as a normal part of loading content, under their own privacy policies.
Removing content
Want a spot or a note you added removed? Email pallavilodhi08@gmail.com and tell us which spot it is.
