Panipuri Radar

The most important map we needed!

About Panipuri Radar

Everyone has "their" panipuri wala, and nobody agrees on whose is best. Panipuri Radar puts all of them on one map, rated by the people who actually eat there.

Why we built it

Panipuri is one of the most loved street foods in India, but finding a good stall in an unfamiliar neighbourhood is mostly luck. Food apps list restaurants, not the cart on the corner that has been there for twenty years. And none of them answer the question everyone actually asks before eating panipuri: is the water safe?

Panipuri Radar is a free, no-login map built for exactly that. Every spot carries two separate ratings, taste and hygiene, so you can pick a stall that's both delicious and clean.

How the map works

Adding a spot

Tap "Panipuri Spotted? Add To Radar!" on the map, then tap where the stall is. Give it a name, rate taste and hygiene from 1 to 5, and optionally add the price per plate and a short note, like which pani to order or what time the cart sets up. The pin appears for everyone straight away.

How ratings are calculated

Each spot shows the average of every taste rating and every hygiene rating it has received. Anyone who visits a spot can add their own rating from the spot's popup, so the scores get more reliable as more people weigh in. Spots that average 4 or more across taste and hygiene get a golden glow on the map, so the standouts are easy to find at a glance.

Votes and reports

Each spot has a ๐Ÿ‘/๐Ÿ‘Ž button for a quick "still good?" check. If a stall has closed, moved, or the pin is simply wrong, use ๐Ÿšฉ Report incorrect / closed spot in its popup. Once a spot has been reported by several different visitors, it's hidden from the map.

Where the starting spots came from

To make the map useful from day one, we seeded it with well-known panipuri stalls from public listings across India. These spots are labelled "Seeded from Google - visit and rate to keep this fresh!" and start with a single placeholder rating. Their scores only become meaningful once real visitors rate them, so if you've eaten at one, please add your rating.

PuriPoints and ranks

Every spot you add earns 10 PuriPoints and moves you up the ranks, from Puri Rookie to Puri Scout, Puri Pro, Chaat Champion and finally Puri Master ๐Ÿ†. Ranks are stored only in your own browser. They're just for fun, and there's no account or leaderboard.
